Friendship

For children aged 4-6 years old

Introduction

This project is about Friendship. In six lessons, pupils explore various emotions and learn to name them. They learn about being kind to one another and interacting with their classmates in a friendly manner. They communicate about this with fellow pupils abroad. The project utilises CLIL methodology. CLIL stands for Content and Language Integrated Learning. This means that learning a foreign language (in this case, English) and working on intercultural competences take place in an integrated way.

What are the pupils going to learn and do?

The pupils explore and recognise the various emotions.
The pupils practise naming their feelings and think about when they experience them.
The pupils learn about expressing feelings and helping others.
The pupils explore the concepts of 'friendship', 'being kind', and 'being unkind'.
The pupils understand that friendship in the classroom is important and that friends help each other.
The pupils understand the principle of 'majority rule' and learn that their wishes do not always come true.
